Weighed in heavier than usual for this competition (think it was thier scales!!!) but was not too bothered as all went well. First lift of 140 passed, then went for 150 and failed, then went for 150 again and got it, which is a personal best for me!

10/05/08 05:18 AM slit lamp microscope(SM-30N)TAKAGI SEIKO by merazoo1

could any one help me in fault finding in the power supply unit of the slit lamp microscope(TAKAGI SEIKO model:SM-30N).The power supply model no is:SO7-35.
The problem is that the power supply gets heated and then the thermistat cuts the power off in the middle of the operation. The PCB board no is:ESOO29-1 MP-MY.I have found the resistor R27 gone black and hence replaced it with a 100 Ohm resistor but it could not help.Still the problem persists.I am in the middle of nowhere as i don't have any manuals and circuit diagrams.please help me.

09/05/08 11:50 AM Lost and found forum by Mark Grimshaw

This suggestion may have been mentioned before, so apologies if it already has but, would there be any benefit in having a lost and found thread?

I have just seen a thread regarding a piece of equipment found in one hospital but belonging to another and thought a dedicated lost and found section might be useful.

Over to you.

07/05/08 03:29 PM Which trolley ? by JoLee

We had a Bristol Maid trolley at Blackpool - a sturdy 2 level blue framed trolley with 2 red buckets which we used to cart around medical equipment. It is no more and has been condemned.

I need to find a replacement that is no heavier, and can cope with the equipment we regularly transport. What do people use in their workplaces for carrying equipment ? any ideas/recommendations ? I would really really appreciate any help here. We are using our back up trolley which is too small right now and slowing us up substantially

HELP!!! \:\)

07/05/08 11:41 AM FM800 Foetal Monitors by Scottish

Hi,

We have 11 Oxford Sonicaid (now Hunleigh) FM800 foetal monitors within our delivery unit, 4 of which were purchased just over a year ago.

These 4 units have problems with blown mains input fuses every so often since new which has not yet been corrected despite a series of hardware replacement being carried out by Huntleigh engineers.

As is often typical we are being told that no one else is reporting this issue and we may have problems with our mains supply within that area! This seems highly unlikely as the 7 remaining monitor bought between 2002 and 2003 have had no problems (well not fuse related anyway).

Has anyone else out there had similar problems and if so how have you got on?

07/05/08 10:43 AM Medex Syringe Size Calibration Kit by Mikey

Hi

I'm looking for a spec sheet for the Medex Syringe Size Calibration Kit (Cat No. - SIZEK)

I need to know the diameter of the guages and the allowed tolerance.

I've been on to Smiths Medical and they are looking into it but I don't hold out much hope of them finding it.

06/05/08 01:43 PM T.O.I.L / On Call by Topper

Hi all, me again.
Just been refused a day off in leiu for being On Call during Easter Monday!!!!!, even though i've already had a day off for being O/C on Good Friday. This has always been the case with O/C during Bank Holidays at our Trust, at least since i started. I'm sure we are still under Whitley but i have been told that there is a query over definitions and that i will have to cover my days fishing tommorrow with A.L. until the matter is resolved. I have of course pointed out that i was contacted at home and asked to cover the whole Easter break O/C and it was stated then that i will be rewarded 2 days TOIL for the PH's but now this!!!
HELPPPP!!!
Now, where did i put that goodwill?
