Yes! me with more hair (and less gray than these days). Thanks for doing the upload Huw.

A note of explanation for all.

I wanted to upload this pic as "another classic bike" but ran into some technical difficulties.

This is a MZ 250 "Trophy", circa 1979 or so. The photo is taken at the top of the Great St Bernard Pass between Switzerland and Italy. My best friend and I went (two up with camping gear) on this trusty machine from the UK to the Montreux Jazz Festival and then on to the Italian coast near the French border. Then, once we had nearly run out of money, back through France to the UK. Not bad for a 250 single !

They don't make 'em like that anymore.

Which is probably just as well. Although, having said that ... could you have done that on, say, a Francis-Barnett? smile

Bike aficionados may recall that the MZ's (later to become known as MuZ for some strange reason) always used to do well in the ISDT. As indeed did the CZ's, the Jawa's and all the similar (East) European two-strokes.

I should admit to having a CZ twin on the road myself at one time (yes, times were hard back then, as well). I guess we could use the word "bland" (but reliable) ... a bit like the old Toyota Carina that I use to get around in these days!
