Does anyone know where the minimum patient monitoring requirements for an HDU bed are written down ? I vaguely remember seeing then somewhere a couple of years ago but can't track them down on any of the obvious Web sites.

Roy,
I spoke to our ITU matron, the HDU works to locally laid down work instructions, and they are mainly clinical not technical.

I don't think there are any 'laid down' requirements but we have datex monitors with everything except invasive pressure, and piped gases, at each bed.

If they need ventilating or invasive lines they tend to move them to ITU.
