'Fears are emerging that some NHS Trusts could try to delay the long scheduled pay rise for NHS staff of 3.225% from April-the final year of a three-year deal-until staff have been moved on to the new pay system, which could take until September'

Any Thought on this statement which was issued by

Sounds like someones testing the water - I wouldn't be surprised if the Government and Unions had already agreed to it, on our behalf, a while back and have just remembered that they forgot to mention it to us!

I suspect we will not be getting the 3.225% in April as DH have not issued any Advance Letters for this year, I have just checked their website.

The Advance Letters are what payroll use to make adjustments to pay, therefore no advance letter no pay increase. I do hope I am wrong, or if anyone finds this years ones on the DH website please post the link.

We used to wait from April until about September or October, after the annual cost of living rise was agreed upon anyhow, and receive back-pay in time to spend it on Christmas; so I suppose it's "business as usual" then.

I thought the whole point of the three year plan was that we would receive it automatically with none of the usual delays.
Why did I think that? I have been in the NHS for over 20 years do I not learn from experience?

There was a wait whilst the unions negotiated the rise, however, as BoppyP mentions, this rise has already been agreed and, as such, should be applied in April.

The problem is actually how the employer will manage the transfer over to AfC in September 2005 and apply pay-rises that are due all the way back to December 2004, within the new pay sytem, with an increment in April 2005 that was agreed over 2 years ago for the old pay system? See what I'm getting at?

Don't let them short change you Mr Ling, the AFC pay differences should go back to October 2004.
