Suddenly had a thought does Holby City have an EBME department or are all repairs done by porters and consultants.

Not sure, but from memory I did see a Physicist in an episode of Casualty once played by Derek Griffiths a fine comedy actor! A hidden message?
I also remember in a really early episode of Casualty a consultant screaming "get someone from medical physics fast" talk about reality TV.............................................

Surely Holby City is the ideal and perfect hospital that doesn't have any equipment breakdowns (Ha Ha Ha)!!!
Having supplied equipment to the set of Holby City and attended during filming, I actually found out that a lot of the equipment is either hooked up to patient simulators or not switched on at all. I was totally surprised because I was under the illusion that Holby City was as true to life as possible (NOT)!!!!

Yes and haven't you noticed how PACS has been installed so rapidly without all the usual glitches that accompany that. Except the SHO who crashed the system with his memory stick!

Don't get me started on the scene with the mobile X-ray unit this week! What disregard for basic RP principles!

What about Scrubs then everything techical and non clinical at Sacred Heart Hospital seems to get done by the Janitor!

Also suprised how many hospitals and companies loan equipment to Holby and Casualty, I'm wondering if American shows get equipment on product placement?

Maybe we should start writing a script for "our own departmental show".....
Anyone got good suggestions for a title?? its a start.
I was thinking of Monkey Enclosure, or maybe the Zoo Keepers.

Regarding Scrubs and product placement, have a look at the closing credits as it clearly shows companies who have supplied them equipment.

It also happens quite a lot in this country. There are certain companies who supply equipment to TV studio's, who obviously get the equipment 'loaned' to them from the manufacturer.

I had sneaky suspicion when I noticed some equipment we have on trail also on Greys anatomy. That's another thing about tv from the states, the reason nothing goes wrong is because most things are only a couple of months old! As for the states of the hospitals there's two options complete spotless built a week ago or complete blood bath !

Paul as for your department show, there will have to be people constantly popping in closets having sex without any risk of disciplinary action!
