O.K. hmm. We have had a number of reports of these "spontaneously” hibernating. I.e. shutting down for no apparent reason. On investigation “mobile phones have been blamed by the staff (Yes we have a policy but we also have the “untouchable” offenders here too) . It has been suggested via a somewhat reliable source (“un-confirmed”) that the earlier releases of this ventilator where susceptible to EMI. And that an upgrade involving a so called screening kit is available. Can anyone please confirm this ???

We only have one here that's done almost 9000 hours since purchase in Dec 01. Apart from routine servicing and one problem caused by a wet exp filter we haven't had any problems.

I am an ex PB support engineer myself and know the product very well. Cannot fault the general operation of the device, it is an excellent device for the users to work with and has excellent WOB.

I have heard of a suspicion that assertion errors may have been caused by cell phones being used in close proximety to the product. In general though they are prone to throwing a wobbly and going SVO due interuptions over the ethernet communications bus, among other things.
