This suggestion may have been mentioned before, so apologies if it already has but, would there be any benefit in having a lost and found thread?

I have just seen a thread regarding a piece of equipment found in one hospital but belonging to another and thought a dedicated lost and found section might be useful.

Over to you.

Mark

Why not a simple on-line database with a simple "add lost or found equipment detail and contact person" form. easily search-able with an add comments facility!

I could knock one up if thy wishes!
The problem with using a long thread is that it soon becomes hard to navigate!

Ed

PS I will even host it if you wish!

ok then Ed.
Sounds like a plan. \:\)

I'd prefer it not to have too large a footprint and as it's only a lost & found, as simple as possible. Perhaps even just a flatfile db.

It is done! Just need to do a live test on my server then I will zip it up and email it to you! Sorry Huw I sort of pre-empted your response and built it in MySQL! (I hate flat files, so boring!). However its very small (1 table and 8 Cols)
CSS Files included so feel free to tweak the CSS and Code to your needs!

Regards

Ed

Nice Ed,
Made me smile to see the logo etc in place \:\)

I have it on a test server at the mo' - I'll throw some stones at it later today.

How about an admin login to delete unwanted entries/ spam etc?

PS you should be able to add an include in the db connect file (as it is the first one called by all scripts). Use it to varify user >= 0,1 or whatever!

Forgot to mention - an amusing trap if db doesn't authenticate properly \:D
