I have just read Info Health F2 article, which is all good.

I am trying to get information on ECRI asset management system.

Our hospital needs a new Asset system and has already had a demonstration from F2.

Please could you write your comments about ECRI system?

Thank you

I have not used the ECRI system (aims) but do use a system called Service Centre (I refuse to use the US version of spelling here). Have to say it is great and well worth a look. Originally developed by Perigrine it is now owned/developed by HP.

Just had a quick look at the HP web site to see if I could get a direct link but got so annoyed so quickly that I gave up. Appologies, I'm a bit cranky this evening!

I was personally most impressed by medusa and their modular systematic approach. F2 had good plans but seemed under developed.

We have AIMS and migrated from HECS. It's good, albeit very American still, and it is always improving by being under continual development.

With AIMS you need to not compare, and just take the system for what it is. Thats the best way to take to the, perhaps, not always methodial and logical functionality. It's pretty comprehensive in meeting UK NHS requirements I would say, if you have the time to enter the required data and use it. Ultimately, the database, like any, is only as good as the data entered.

Not cheap I think and you have to pay annual licence. Not worth looking at it.

Making the impossible, possible would be for the NHS to have a centralized Asset Management programme used by all trusts.

@Roger ... I assume you're talking about the ECRI system (HECS, AIMS)?

@Neil ... WIMS?

Oh ya! Such an expensive cost of repurchasing after the old HECS has died.

Geoff, I do think (hope) that things have moved on since WIMS

Roger, and the cost of these trusts evaluating and purchasing their own software with the man-hours to modify them to meet their requirements, if they ever do meet the requirements and if not purchase some more software. Why not compare (survey) the different softwares that are currently in use in the trusts and go with the best?
