What is the current trend with use of mobile phones in the hospital? Has anyone had bad experience with equipment?

This was some time ago, and the phone acted like a degaussing gun, affecting the colours. Not my computer I hasten to add.

I leave my mobile on silent, when I'm at home, but close to my PC. I can here an incoming call before the phone starts vibrating by the noises eminating from the sound system connected to the PC.

You can also eavesdrop on a seemingly dormant phone polling (and being interrogated) in similar fashion.

Several month ago I had an interesting experience with mobile phone and ECG device. There was an incoming call during ECG was recording test signal from generator. RF interference caused baseline drift and pulsed noise.
