Thanks for the welcome, Geoff.

I'm preparing to present to the Environment of Care committee at WMRC my suggestions of implemennting (slowly at first of course) a reliabiltiy-centered-maintenance strategy. We do already have a risk-based program that is still derived from the original Fennigkoh & Smith model (1989) and was cited by the JCAHO. Approval to conduct RCM and FMECA analysis will have to get by my VP, Risk Managment, and other non-technical upper management. Not having any luck finding other local institutions that have tried the RCM approach. I could send the power-point I will be using at EOC meeting to any interested for critique and feedback. There are several organizations here in US that are actively recommending the clinical engineering community to engage in the RCM in healthcare topic.

Obnoxious! And a name being cited! Red card!

Definition of slander required! Moderator informed!

@Rick

Good stuff, Rick ... but under the wrong thread, I'm afraid. Take a look at the earlier thread. As you must already know, things have moved on a bit since F&S.

Any chance of relocating Rick's post, Huw?

No surname.
'Obnoxious' is subjective.
No slander. smile

Can you copy it across, then?

Yes, I agree with you (but some others don't seem to "get it") - opinions are simply that ... opinions. Everyone has them (or should have), and yours, mine or anybody else's all have equal value* (that is, none at all)! smile

In other words, ones man's "genius guy" could very well be another's "obnoxious [censored]" ... each may be an equally valid assessment, potentially at least.

* Apart from you being in a position to exercise the moderator's veto, that is!

Huw, regarding 'Obnoxious People' I take it that you have never met Zakaria Wazna, mentioned by me a few times and Tony Dowman had the dubious pleasure, although lucky for him it was a short acquaintance.

Anyone interested going back. My former boss, one colleague said, is looking for 500 biomeds at the moment. But with this number, I don't know where he would place them. 'Band Wagon' strategy maybe.

Mine could have been short stay because I planned to scape thru jeddah's backdoor. I just finished my bloody contract and end up leaving my bonus payment because I never returned after vacation.

I remember!
*One modeer planned to place a water distiller just above an automated chemistry analyzer so that he could avoid fetching water and refilling his water tank.
*Or one time I was asked to run an expired control and calibrate a hemetology analyzer.

one last thing, many ABG consumables are wasted because no one cares to run them. They just expire inside the big store rooms in which most hospitals in my country cannot afford to buy.

But this does not mean everything is bad. There's always a good side also.

brost? Kabsa? Shawarma? etc
