Fair enough, Paul. But you know how it is. It's a bit like cars these days ... they all end up looking the same!

I am aware that CAS is an OEM; of nicely made NIBP modules especially (
eg, for Medtronic Physio-Control).
I doubt I shall ever be in a position to purchase new medical equipment myself (and neither would I want to be), but if you are able to
donate a couple, I can pass them on to people in desperate need. Then they would
really be put to the test!
My own interest is more in technical support matters, and I can't help wondering why "new" kit like this needs to have main boards replaced. I appreciate that y'all have only recently taken on the dealership, but it would be interesting to hear how many have been changed (and why).
If you showed me one I would be itching to open it up. What would I find inside, I wonder? OK, this is contemporary technology, with tightly packed electronics, and perhaps board swaps are the only expedient way of effecting repair. But ... what about reliability? Are we sure that it's not something else that is the real culprit here? Probes, cuffs ... "dropped", and stuff like that?
Perhaps we need to hear more (from Brian, Lee
et al) about what the actual faults (symptoms) are, or were.
PS: you can get fully loaded (and nice looking) SpO2/NIBP/ECG/Resp/Temp monitors with 10" TFT display directly from China off eBay for £ 520. Complete with a two-year warranty. I'm thinking about getting a box full and sticking my
own label on them!
