Not to mention:-
1) Visas
2) Insurance
3) Medical repatriation cover
4) Who's tools and test kit? (I'm ****** off with mine "going missing")
...
etc., etc.Plus ... paid by whom, how, and when? And (of course) how much?
Freelance shouldn't also be taken to imply
cavalier (
aka "dumbass"). As I've mentioned before, the world has become a (more) dangerous place. Either that or I for one have become a bit too old for "adventures".
Actually, thinking about it some more, I still like adventure, but it's the "reckless" bit that doesn't appeal so much these days. Personally, I like things to be properly organised. And experience (some of it sorry) has shown that that means it's
me who needs to be the one doing the organising!
How many times (Neil, Tony
et al) have we heard promises like:- "no worries - there will be someone to meet you at the airport - guaranteed"! Yeah, sure.
The bottom line here is that if "everything is down to the guy" (that is, the gallant adventurer is expected to fend for himself, and pay his own way), then it's surely a case of a "Big Bucks"
per diem! Plus a decent
advance (or "mobilisation fee")!
Hopefully, some young buck(s) will be responding to Jandre.

... there you are Jandre, I've given you your opening ...
