No, I think Eastern Europe is attractive, and days off in Indonesia would be fun. But which country has the best access to parts, and which ones allow you to transfer funds?

Yeah ... Eastern Europe is attractive. Well, at least one of 'em in our street is.

Sounds like you're just the Mann Jandre is looking for, then, Neil.

I understand that "parts will be provided" (supposedly by the Mann at the airport)!

But funds? Who knows? Best take along plenty from your stash of dollars, Mate. Just as long as you don't try to hide your wedge in your toolkit ... else you can wave that goodbye as you pass through the airport.

Yes ... I have passed through certain airports on the African continent. frown

As Jandre is in South Africa, do you think he may be looking for some one to cover his shift whilst he is watching the world cup. Could be too inebriated to attend to his duties during June/July

I know a little more about all this than I'm able to let on ... but (until Jandre comes back on here himself) here are a couple of points to keep you all guessing:-

1) Jandre travels about a bit ...
2) He has even been known on this Sceptred Isle.
3) Look closely at Jandre's avatar ... then ...
4) Ask yourself why he would need to use "freelancers"?

... OK, that's enough for now. smile

I was sent to commission dialysis machines in Al Ain,simple job 3 days max,van picks me up for a 3 hour drive across the desert with no AC,accomodation provided in cleaners block with no lock on my door,1st job for tools wrapping a wire coat hanger around door handles,on arrival in new unit no water treatment plant and decorators haven't even started.
I move myself to The Hilton and 3 days in my credit card is maxed out,end up staying 10 days as nurse doesn't show up to do the training so I ended up doing that myself too.
Oh those were the days, don't think I'd be as adventurous now though!

Nice story Chris. And an excellent example of the levels of resourcefulness and sheer doggedness often required!

But you didn't finish the story. Did you get your money (reimbursement, and all the rest)? smile

OK, it was back a few years ago, but I dare say that similar (or worse) scenarios still prevail. Especially in some of the places I listed earlier.

Hey Tony ... not too many horror stories then (there) I hope. Apart from the midnight bean tins, that is. Ha, ha.

And you meant the original Healthtec, of course. smile
