Dear Medical Engineers,

Engineers Without Borders Professional Network would like to invite all members of EBME.co.uk to a trio of talks which will discuss the role that engineers can play in improving global health. The talks will kick off with Stephen Gerrard from Cambridge University who will describe his work developing a breast milk filter to prevent mother-to-child HIV transmission. Andrew Gammie, a clinical engineer will then share his experiences working with the WHO on their Technical Advisory Group on Healthcare Technologies. Finally, Anne Russell of Sheffield University’s Teaching Hospital will speak about the THET partnership with her colleagues in Ethiopia. An open discussion will then follow to give the audience an opportunity to share their experiences.

The talks will take place on Monday 15th March at 7pm in the Royal School of Mines Building at Imperial College, London (For more information please see the flyer attached and our london festival website - http://www.ewb-uk.org/festival2010).

Many thanks and I look forward to meeting some of you on the 15th.

Kind regards,

Victoria Gerrard
