Whether to follow (or not) is up to the sheep concerned. But they
do usually trail on behind, do they not?

But yes, that saying could also be offering good advice along the lines of:-
"... get out of the way (of the door)!"
But please be clear that we don't always need to blindly (unthinkingly, and without comment) follow the Leader. In fact, the
informed leader should always step back when necessary to give full rein to any other within the group who is able to take the lead (special skills, whatever) as each occasion demands.
As I may have said before, the wise person should be careful who he works for. If only because the
credo of the organisation (the company, whatever) may be seen by observers to have rubbed-off onto (and supported by) the individual! Or, if you like, tarred with the same brush.
I'm not a great supporter of BS myself, and the "exciting opportunity" phrase is a tad over-used. However, such jobs
do exist. When you work in Teams (as many of us do), "team building" itself is indeed an "exciting opportunity" for the Real Leader.
Frankly, it's the raw material which is (and seemingly always has been) in short supply. Perhaps I need to qualify that:- I mean, "in the UK".
