Pirro, it does not matter what size you can 'hold' it is the size of the download that matters. In gmail you can download files upto 25m, I think hotmail will not let you go above 10m. in gmail you can hold 7.5G

Don't forget that attachments can be zipped first. However, I have found that .pdf documents don't compress that much, and some email accounts (eg, Gmail) seemingly don't let .zip files through anyway!

I don't have a problem sending zip files with gmail, gmail will allow you to send up to 25M, it will not however let you send .exe or MS access files. yahoo and hotmail do not seem to accept files larger than 10M.

The problems I have encountered have been with sending .zip files to Gmail accounts.

I usually end up simply renaming them, and advising the recipient to rename them back to a .zip before, er, unzipping them.
