I do not know if the 1.7 version is reliable? Baxter has come a long way with the older version and a lot of field corrective actions just because the design has not been fully tested in the market. And after a while you find the design flaws started to appear and no longer able to hold water and finally has to be discarded.
FDA has been very firm in their stand to replace the 1.5 version and have Baxter refund the owner with the remaining depreciated value of the pump or an option to replace with Sigma Spectrum.
Now that the Sigma has also given rise to certain problem, I like to ask the members of this forum about the approach they are taking in order to prevent another repeat of 1.5.
