Hi,

No, it has all gone quiet again. I understand that the 1.7 version has been passed by the TGA (Australian version of FDA) but have not seen this documented.
The new pumps have not yet been rolled out so we have no way of knowing how well this will work. One of the first places to get the new pumps will be the hospital in NZ where "Kiwi Phil" works so he should be one of the first to see them in action.
I'll post again if I hear any more updated news.

Dave

I do not know if the 1.7 version is reliable? Baxter has come a long way with the older version and a lot of field corrective actions just because the design has not been fully tested in the market. And after a while you find the design flaws started to appear and no longer able to hold water and finally has to be discarded.

FDA has been very firm in their stand to replace the 1.5 version and have Baxter refund the owner with the remaining depreciated value of the pump or an option to replace with Sigma Spectrum.

Now that the Sigma has also given rise to certain problem, I like to ask the members of this forum about the approach they are taking in order to prevent another repeat of 1.5.

Sorry correction!

US models were 1 or 2 versions before the 1.5 version.

Hi,

Has anyone started the P1.7 version? I heard Canada is the first country to start with the P1.7. Just like to know how is the user experience with the new pumps.

Regards
Roger
