Maybe Huw could simply disable the Delete feature (whilst allowing Edits for a period of a couple of minutes - so that typos can be corrected*).

* For those happy few who care about that sort of thing! But bearing in mind that the ESSENCE OF THE SHOUT is its immediacy - or speed of response - so there is bound to be the odd faux pas. But - on the other hand - the scrolling nature of the SHOUT BOX means that even the most embarrassing SNAFU need not be exposed for too long!

Huw, would it be possible, given that there can be multiple shouts going on at the same time, to add some sort of colour code so that individual threads of conversation could more easily be followed?

Agree with the removal of the delete function. Perhaps we should not even have an edit function, we just have to accept that typos will happen and not give people a hard time if they do (ok Geoff?)

To be honest, it is what it is; a very simple text editor, simply for spur of the moment shouts.

To add editing and multi-threading features would defeat its simple purpose in life (and create headaches for me).
