I need to let this one have some more exposure. smile

It's destined for Uganda (I think) as a charitable donation ... but I would prefer that it didn't insist on blowing fuses on the main PCB. whistle

Hi Geoff. I have user and service manual in hardcopy.
What do you need?

Thanks for that, Hugo ... that's good to know. Let me take a closer look at the thing first, and I'll get back to you if I find I need some specific information.

Cheers. Geoff. smile

OK Hugo. I wonder if I can ask you to advise about Q1, Q4, Q5 and Q6 on board 50020 (the one at the rear of the unit)?

I would like to know what (type numbers) these components are.

For instance, I believe that Q5 and Q6 are LM317AK (adjustable voltage regulators), but how about Q1 and Q4?

Meanwhile, I believe I may have found the (at least one) fault. It looks like D1 is shorted on that same board. That goes off to J5 and then (to what looks like) a bridge rectifier (which seems to be OK) ... after that, who knows? frown

Hi Geoff, you are correct. Q5 and Q6 are LM317K. But, Q1 is a LM323K (5 V fixed regulator) and Q4 is a RFM12P08 (Power Mosfet Chanel-P). D1 is a diode Schottky SR504. Fuse must be blowing for DI in short but must too by isolated damage in Q1, Q4, Q5 and Q6 assembly, that is very important.

Thanks for such a quick and helpful response, Hugo.

It looks like Q1, Q4, Q5 and Q6 are OK, and I shall need to chase around those related circuits as you suggest. But I don't see anything obvious just yet ... tomorrow, perhaps.

You are a Star! smile

First, I suggest disconnect Va (D1) because this voltage is sent to main board. May be you have short circuit in main board.
I hope not.
