I have had a look at the shortage occupation list and can find no mention of Bio – Medical engineer! You should also be aware the military redundancies were announced yesterday and I know of 4 Military Medical Engineers that have been given notice.

A few more R.E.M.E in the pot now looking for positions! The good thing is you can check their qualifications vey easily!

I did have a look at this out of curiosity, and unfortunately Medical electronics was removed from the list a couple of years ago.

3113 actually states it's not a graduate post and 3218 if you follow this is actually the dental technician who takes x-rays not the tech who services the equipment.

When the UK border agency actually had the points calculator I did try it and if I wasn't born in the UK, now even with a engineering degree I wouldn't get in!

I will be one among the 10 and who knows only one who cracks the interview. Basically i started my journey towards medical physics but ended with M.Sc in medical electronics in UK. already my qualifications are M.Sc and M.Phil in physics. Now getting strong work experience in the field. After one or two months, I am planning to jump from my current tier 4 visa category to tier 2 category. The only thing which i am worried is about visa issue. I will be lucky, If the employer can issue me the COS to apply for visa. But for them to issue COS for visa, this profession should be in shortage occupation list of UKBA website.
