Unless you can get in with a large manufacturer, in the "private sector" you are only worth what you can "bring to the table" (as I've heard it described a million times).
In other words, what you can offer (and then, once in the door, continue to provide) to the company. You have to justify your existence, as it were ... and on a more-or-less continuous basis.
Ten years (or forty) doesn't make a lot of difference on the
Dark Side. There's no Band 4/5/6 there either, I'm pleased to say. I doubt that you'll find many 37.5 hour weeks, as well.
You could expect something in the range of £ 25-32k I should imagine, but for that you would have to work damned hard, and probably spend half of your day driving if you're not lucky.
