Sounds like you need to take a close look at the handswitch (and its cable, and connector(s)) ... then report back! smile

Checked it out for both shorts and continuity, clean contacts, free movement, and good spring action we hope! think

So, if all is well with the handswitch and its cable ... then I would say you have an interesting fault! smile

I'm not familiar with the machine in question. Does it contain relays and such (or it is more modern than that)? If so, check for "stuck" contacts!

BTW:- what makes you say "it is exposing radiation simultaneously ..."? Is it actually exposing? Or is it just indicating?

That's not a bad idea ... as long as it's safe ... and depending how (where) you've got it wired.

You could be playing tricks on yourself there, you know. smile

What does the machine do when the tube is in circuit? think

Without being there, taking a look for myself, and standing alongside you listening to the clicking going on ... it's a bit difficult to say! smile

Well done. smile

Not a "clicking" problem at all, then!

Any idea what caused the fault?

We're always interested in "full details" ... especially in cases of "good faults"!
