Hi,
Just wondering if anyone else has seen this problem,we have recently over the last 2 months seen a large jump (30-40 failures)in Welch Allyn temperature probes where the wire that is glued at the top of the probe being pulled out due to the glue breaking from the wire. The part # for the probe is 02678-100 and 02678-000 and is used on the Spot Vital Monitor, and Suretemp.

I have called the vendor and they have never seen this problem before and that the nurses are causing this failure due to pulling the thermometer out of the well by the wire "rather then by removing the probe from the end where there is indents for the fingers to grasp". We have been using these probes for 10 years and have about 300+ devices in use, and have not switch to new cleaning solutions.

We are able to repair most of the probes by re-applying glue to the wire but would like to know if anyone else has seen this.

Thanks,

Pete
