Blobby,

The main failing on CNST seems to be implementing training. It requires resources such as somewhere to train, someone to do the training, and a medical devices policy that includes training.

I am a Medical Device trainer in the Birmingham area.

I used to be an engineer, we all have our faults!?!

I am always interested in sharing ideas and welcome appraisal/brain storming of my work.

In the midlands there is a network of trainers, there are also networks in other parts of the UK.
Try looking at the nursetrainer.com website, there may be other trainers in your area.

Dear All,
Does any one analysed the damages/negligence and causes for the same and proposed action plans?
What do we do if the patient damages the machine?
your comments and advices are welcomed!

Hi EL

Our Foundation Trust has been CNST Level 3 for some years now. The EBME Department has been involved in the implementation and advancement of the requirements of CNST, working closely with the NHSLA.

As I understand it, out Trust was the second to achieve CNST Level 3 and are one of only four to presently hold it.

Standards for Better Health now figure in the running of course.

Jim
