Hearty best wishes to all ... on the
happy occasion of
St.George's Day!

(just in case you didn't realise...)
St.George is the patron saint of Aragon, Canada, Catalonia, China, England, Ethiopia, Georgia, Greece, Montenegro, Palestine, Portugal, Russia, and Serbia, as well as the cities of Amersfoort, Beirut, Ferrara, Freiburg, Genoa, Ljubljana, and Moscow, as well as a wide range of professions and organisations (and, indeed, syphilis sufferers). He came from Cappadocia, in
Anatolia, and would never have set foot in England (unlike, perhaps, Joseph of Arimathea)!

History first links George with England on that other famous day (that of St.Crispin), when upon (in 1415) the Battle of Agincourt took place. Yet another "finest hour"!
Lastly, let's not forget that William Shakespeare (surely one of the most famous of Englishmen?) was born, and also died, on this same date. The 23rd April (1564 and 1616, respectively).
