I just wondered, what are EBME's biggest bug bears?

I know about flat batteries, but are there any others that ward staff should avouide sending equipment to EMBE for?

;0)

Disconnecting BP cuffs by the tried and tested manner of pulling the connections apart instead of unscrewing the collar, and then throwing the cuff away!!!

Being told the O2 sensor is duff and they have tried calibrating it.
Finding out its actually the flow sensor thats duff.
Then havin to explain that VT, Mve etc arent O2 functions.

Not reporting faulty equipment imediately and hence accumulating a load of faulty equipment. This then must all be repaired ASAP as they have no working equipment left!

Here is a gem I spotted this morning - Equipment with the fault description,"Don't know"

One of my colleagues once went to look at a "not working" instrument, and when he asked what was wrong with it he was told "Well I don't know - you're the technician."

I keep a few labels/postit notes from faulty equipment on the wall in front of me (but at least these attempt to describe the fault): "All lights on but nobody home", "Dead as a Dodo", "I've lost my voice", "Broken making fun noices".

Usual favourite is dumping equipment in a corridor with a vague note saying something like, "this bed is awful" and then later ringing up to see why it isn't fixed. Usually response is to explain that the departments crystal ball was dropped and is now out of action! \:\)
