Pure HD:- Pure Harmonic Detection. It's the latest digital beam technology (and was therefore a bit pricey, I should imagine). As usual it's all about (better) image quality (which is, after all, the name of the game with ultrasound). You'd probably be impressed if you saw the image alongside another machine, like any of those you mention.
We're talking here about a machine (ie, the SSD-5000) with a high-end spec. The Pure Harmonic Detection technology is supposed to provide distortion-free fundamental frequency transmission (for those of you who remember their transmission lines theory) It is meant to be especially effective for obese patients, and in a variety of technically difficult scanning conditions.

Good to sell at (actually, it should go for a little more, I would have thought) ... not so good if you are buying! Margin is the difference between cost and price. There you are, yet another free lesson!
