Travel Time ... or Time Travel?

Unfortunately, Darth, I don't get let near RAF aircraft these days. In fact I don't get to fly anywhere much, at all. Not that I'm really missing it, what with all the security etc. hassles!

But if you're looking for someone dispensable (ie, well passed his RTU-date) for any of those missions ... well, I guess I'm your man! \:\)

PS: is "Egyptian PT" a PC term?

Topper,

Did you have to fill in a study leave request? If so they usually count full days only. You should seek clarification from your bosses. If the course finished at say 1 o'clock and you were home for 3 o'clock, questions may be asked. In any case you shouldn't have to work the time back.

If we claim mileage when travelling to a course we have to sign that our insurance covers business use. This implies that the time spent travelling is "business time".
What about courses that are for more than one day? When does work time stop and your time, albeit away from home, start?

In a previous job in the social work sector, I was with a charity taking some people away on holiday. We were caring for the people 24hours a day, even sleeping in the same area to be there ready for them if needed. The charity paid a normal working days pay for each day away. People from Local Government Social Services were there as well, they were paid for a normal working day and then at overtime rates for the rest of the 24hour period. There were no shortages of volunteers for this job for them!
And I thought Social Services were short of money.
The precedence is there, now can it be enforced?
I wonder what the working time directive people would say.
Robert
