Hi, anyone tried switching ASP.NET on in XP Professional? Seems very temperamental!
ASP flat-file scripts run OK but it seems to do some strange thing with some of the database connections! I have all the latest DB drivers and have tried it with MySQL, MS-SQL, ORACLE and HARRIS-PRO (Fox) all with unexpected results? It works fine connected to an Access DB! The scripts also work fine on a MS Live server!

Any clues?

Ed

My guess would be that (only) Access is written in one of the .NET languages (namely C++). I would expect anything "Visual Basic"-like to work. But FoxPro is not designed to support the Active Server Pages (ASP) technology (as far as I'm aware).

Microsoft has been trying to kill off FoxPro for years (in favour of Access). Access is OK. VBA and all that. But I've heard that the present version of FoxPro (VFP 9.0) is likely to be the last. Time (and technology) marches on, but it isn't always progress! \:\)

Hi Geoff, thanks for that! I got its working in SQL and Oracle! Also got a Barcode reader to autopopulate an inventory detail form (Quite nice really!) Next step is PDA, see you back on that forum mate!
