Sajeev, there are lots (and lots) of them out there and they cater for lots of different levels of asset management. You could have a long search!
If you're looking for a dedicated Hospital asset management package then Barwick Systems (one of this site's sponsors) could be an easy port of call initially, their 'E-MAT' product seems to be well liked by many users of this forum.

Happy new year.

Do you mean asset management only, Sajeev, or maintenance management? Personally, I would regard asset management as a sub-set of any decent computerized maintenance management system.

If you are thinking of setting up a CMMS from scratch, my advice would be to think in terms of the “paper-less system”. Go down the PDA route, linked to test equipment whenever possible.

Some of us like to write our own software. That way, not only is it cheaper and intellectually rewarding, but you also retain absolute control and can maintain and develop it easily. Otherwise, there are quite a few packages available. Don’t forget to check-out the ones coming from the USA (many of which, I would have to say, appear excellent to me). \:\)

Dear Sir,
Thanks for the guidance. We are looking for asset management with a built in manintenance management module. Our EDP developed an asset management software and in use but it is not complete and paperless. We are still using maintenance forms in paper.Ultimately it is better to have a paperless system. Asset management part of our software is Ok but problems are mostly with the maintenance management,PM planing and sparepart inventory. Our people are good in software but they give importance to HIS,LIS&PACS
I heard about the PDA route maintenance management system from bioteck ( now it may be fluke). How is it used in your part of the world?
Is it avilable in use with all hospitals?

Sajeev, there is a tonne of stuff on the web about “paperless maintenance management”. Here are a couple that caught my eye (non-biomed, I admit):-

Maintenix

Navsea

Personally, I have yet to see a fully-implemented PDA-based system for biomed maintenance (… has anyone else had any luck with this, I wonder?). But, like everything else, I expect a successful (or otherwise) implementation will depend less on the actual technology used but very much more on the quality of the people driving it through to completion! \:\)

Remember the old saw “Garbage In – Garbage Out”? It is just as valid today as it ever was (probably more so, in fact). \:\(

Dear Sir,
Thanks for the informations.Aircraft maintenance is also so important as medical equipment or more.Maintenance delay in one medical equipment may cause a life but an aircraft means all on board and where it fall or hit.It is a huge number of life. One or more life is not the question we needs to do the best to bring it down to zero.It needs a lot of work, money and support from all.Hope things will improve.
