Hi Guys
I've been chairing a group looking at new databases for a year now, and as a HECS user, we have demo'd this and the new version and some others vaguely. Our main stumbling block is providing a specialised sliding scale for a piece of equipment, which requires different procedures each year. I have been told there is another company in the marketplace presently called JADE and I was wondering if anyone has had contact with them and what their feelings are about this company. Or does anyone have a system which can satisfy this need.

Geoff
Sliding scale is where an item for service may slip by a month or two, and the following services follow this slip by adding a month or two to their set date.

Sounds like “slippage” to me, Alan. Either way, Next PM dates can be coded any way you want them if you know how. Simply by calendar, or at Last PM plus the PM interval (as you suggest). All pretty traditional and straight-forward. They can also be adjusted according to perceived priority based upon defined risk elements, stretched out according to equipment condition (at the Last PM) and a whole host of other possibilities. Of course (and as I have mentioned many times before), clever programming and scheduling is all very well, but what really matters is the reality, and quality in execution, of the actual PM work! Yes, the stuff at Brian’s link looks cool (but at what price?). There is always the alternative of “home grown” (of which I am, of course, an oft-quoted advocate). Time to check-out this link , perhaps?

Thanks Guy's
Yes Brian, I had viewed the website and am now wondering if any hospitals have taken up the opportunity to be trial sites, or is the programme not available yet !!! Are there any hospitals out there going to buy into the system ?
Geoff
Thanks for the offer, but unfortunately we are trying to move away from home grown and adopt a system that is supported by a commercial organisation.

A group of south west ebme managers took up the invitation to have a look at this system. My manager liked what he saw. At that time the system wasn't due for release. Mind you, as this system is a leased system any niggles and future developments would be catered for under the terms of the lease agreement - no having to buy future revisions.
Keeping my ear to the ground with this one
Cheers Mark

has there been any word of an imminent release date. The website stated Q1 2006.

Alan,
As far as we've been told, it's still Q1 2006. We have been in the marketplace for a new system for some time now but we've held out for the release of Jade F2 as it looks quite promising.
Cheers Mark
