Another interesting bit of kit ( must be magic when it works)! Does anyone have any idea what sort of device should plug into the 5-pin 180 degree DIN socket on the panel under the display? My guess is that the system expects a keyboard/keypad/response button or some-such-thing (but is being badly disappointed at the moment). smile

... any idea of the wiring, Mate? Also, how does the operator inter-act with the CRT dispay? No keyboard?
Cheers. smile

Our Octopus (can't remember the model no.)did have a keyboard and the patient response button is just a normally open momentary switch. Sorry, don't have the wiring info-we've scrapped ours.

Thanks anyway, Mate. You don't still have your scrapped unit laying around somewhere, I suppose? Or a manual, spares, anything like that? smile

... might as well have another go with this one, too. We're bunging it in the container for shipping to Kashmir later in the month, regardless of condition (ie, with all the other "good stuff" we've collected), but it would be nice to give the blokes out there a fighting chance of being able to put it to good use! smile

Another of these has been spotted on a London street - might have the necessary bits if you can send them to a good home, though might also be too late:

(I've just asked for the location on there)

That's the one, vord. Fancy bunging out a lovely bit of kit like that! Well, that's townies for you, I guess. Wonder if the keyboard and response button are lying about there somewhere too? What we really need is the whole thing dropping off at "the Dairy" in Rotherham, just in case anyone happens to be passing! smile

it uses a touch pen over the screen monitor to control functions and examination.

Welcome to the forum, Octopus. smile

Do you fancy a trip to Kashmir to sort the machine out?
