Description
The Trust provides a full range of acute clinical services for a catchment area of up to 650,000 people. We also provide specialist services in the following areas: radiotherapy, neonatalogy, orthopaedics, plastic surgery, ophthalmology, rheumatology, paediatric, medicine and surgery.

This new post has been created to support the department’s extended hours working in order to increase capacity in line with the NRAG report. As post holder you will contribute to the Technical Services Section of the Radiotherapy Physics Department which currently comprises four dedicated radiotherapy equipment engineers and two mould room technicians.

Your primary responsibility will be to contribute to the first line maintenance and quality assurance of all Radiotherapy equipment within the department including linear accelerators, x-ray machines and other complex medical equipment. The department is networked, filmless and largely paperless. The post will also involve contributing to the mould room service including patient immobilisation device production and QA, plus geometric and optical machine QA.

As post holder your priority will be to assist the Radiotherapy department in the efficient but safe treatment of patients.

Hours of Work:
You will be required to work flexibly to help provide cover from 7.00am to 8.00pm

Requirements:
* HNC/HND or a degree in electronic engineering or equivalent
* Significant experience in an electronic engineering environment.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Flexible
* Previous Radiotherapy experience and/or knowledge of ionising radiation is desirable, although full training will be given
