Due to reorganisation within the department, we have a vacancy for a Medical Engineering Technician within our Medical Electronics Department and are looking to appoint someone to help us develop and extend the range of services we currently provide.
With your BEng in electronic / electrical engineering + specialist postgraduate diploma & manufacturers specialised courses or equivalent, you will ideally have some prior experience of working in a hospital medical engineering, maintenance environment.
Your duties will include working with and supporting the Team Leader in providing a cost efficient repair and maintenance service on medical equipment within the Trust. This will include working on specialist equipment. The post involves acceptance testing of new equipment, new product evaluations, electrical safety testing, installation, commissioning, servicing and repairs on a broad range of complex, multifaceted medical equipment and devices to be used by others.
The successful candidate will be required to work across the 3 main sites i.e. Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh Hospitals and at other sites to service areas maintained under service level agreements (SLA).
This is a fulltime post working 37.5 hours per week.
