Description
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, forward thinking, flexible and committed X-Ray Engineer with experience of providing technical support in a complex multi user/ multi system environment to further complement our existing multi-disciplinary team providing technical services for Radiotherapy, Nuclear Medicine and future Radiology provision based at the St Luke’s Wing of the Hospital.

The successful candidate will join the existing shift system and provide, as a senior engineer, quality assurance, maintenance, fault-finding and repair of highly complex diagnostic, therapy, high dose rate radiation units and networked radiotherapy computer management system, with particular emphasis on linear accelerators. You will therefore have the ability to work within a team environment, providing work co-ordination, planning, scheduling, and organisational skills to contribute to the smooth running of the multi-disciplinary team.

You should ideally possess a degree in clinical technology or an equivalent technical qualification (Degree/HND/HNC) in an electronics discipline and able to demonstrate sound practical skills in analogue and digital electronics, microprocessors & PC technology, gained from several years experience of electronic servicing within a medical service environment, with experience repairing radiotherapy or x-ray equipment, a distinct advantage.

Registered, or eligible to register on the Voluntary Register of Clinical Technologists is desirable.

If required, attendance of the manufacturers training courses within the United States of America and Europe are mandatory and a condition of employment. Consideration may be given to applicants with lesser experience and specific training will be given where necessary.
