Think Pulse Oximetry
Pulse Oximetry is a non-invasive method of monitoring the percentage of haemoglobin (hb) which is saturated with oxygen (SpO2)
PULSE OXIMETRY THE THREE ASSUMPTIONS- All pulses are arterial blood
- All Light passes through the vascular bed
- There is adequate haemoglobin concentration
HOW ARE SpO2 MEASUREMENTS MADE?
Sp02 is calculated by measuring the absorption of light
