Job Description:
The Medical Science Liaison will manage the development of a new clinical application(s) of Advanced Bionics’ neuromodulation platforms, with specific responsibility to:
- Develop and maintain expert-level knowledge of field
- Assess pre-clinical data needs and then designing, implementing and managing plan to collect necessary data
- Select and recruit clinical trial sites
- Develop materials necessary for Investigational Device Exemption (IDE) submission, in collaboration with cross-functional team, including clinical research associates
- Develop intellectual property portfolio
- Develop integrated publication plan for indication
- Draft clinical trial protocol
- Develop clinicians manual, patient manual and field clinical engineer specialty techniques manual customized to specific indication
- Support clinical research staff in IRB submissions
- Manage negotiation of clinical trial agreements and budgets with clinical trial centers
- Arrange clinical and scientific aspects of training on surgical implantation procedure for clinical trial collaborators and field staff
- Attend initial implantation procedures and additional procedures as necessary to troubleshoot any perceived problems
- Provide ongoing feedback to internal staff on product quality, reliability and product improvements
- Deliver clear and effective presentations to internal and external audiences regarding project
- Arrange and attend periodic investigator meetings

Requirements:
- M.D. or Ph.D. degree required.
- Project management experience required.
- Candidates should have a minimum of 2 years experience in a clinical research setting.
- Experience in the Medical Device industry with Class III devices is a plus.
- Product research, design, and/or development experience a plus.
- Degree in engineering or computer science a plus.
- Knowledge of electronic medical devices and regulatory requirements is highly desirable.
