CLINICAL ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT
Harefield Hospital
CLINICAL TECHNOLOGIST
Grade: MTO3 (under review)
Salary: 50% of (£20,474 - £23,947 per annum
plus £1592 Outer London weighting)
Hours: Half-time 18.7 hrs/week
This is an excellent opportunity to join a friendly, professional team at Harefield Hospital committed to delivering a high quality service. The Harefield site is close to the M40/M25 junction, and is a world-famous tertiary centre for the treatment of heart and lung diseases. Many patients receive transplants, and the use of VADs is also common.
Your role will mainly be to provide ITU technical support, including setting up equipment, first-line trouble shooting, and providing training and advice for clinical staff. Ability to perform straightforward medical equipment service and repair tasks would also be an advantage.
You should hold a degree or an HNC (or equivalent) in a relevant subject and have around 3 years relevant experience. We are interested people with nursing or ODP qualifications who have a strong interest in medical equipment, as well as those with medical engineering backgrounds.
You need to be able to work some shifts at weekends on a rota basis, but otherwise your working pattern can be extremely flexible. We would welcome applications from people returning to work after a career break, and would provide any training necessary to bring you back up to speed.
If you would like to discuss the post informally please contact Stephen Young (Principal Clinical Engineer) Tel: 01895 828757.
