We all make mistakes or so I am assured by my previous Managers!...
So as it's Christmas I thought you lot could laugh at one of mine !!....
Some years ago I used to service centrefuges.. One day a MicroCentaur was giving me some problems with the carbon from the brushes arching around the control board. So because using the ultrasonic was considered too dodgy; it was decided to clean the board with copious amounts of cleaning fluid, and thus blast away the debris.
This appeared to work a treat.. so I then re-assembled the unit.
Too everyones else's amusement... when I was leaning over the centrefuge as it began to run up to speed the cleaning fluid ignited.. and flames were seen too lick out from all the vent slits in the base of the unit ..
Unfortunately my Manager was on the other side of the Bench and witnessed it all !!
What can I say?.. I opened the unit again to check for damage and do you know what?, the internals were immaculate, as new almost! Phew!!
Now I wouldn't recommend this method.. but it was the best internal clean it had ever had !!
Regards and best wishes too you all this Festive Season.. I'll be thinking of you all when I'm working
