What can you tell me about thrombolysis pumps?
One of our nurses has asked the following:
"there are 2 types of thrombolysis, Streptokinase and TPA each with a different pump to administer?????. With TPA, I am right in thinking that with the TPA pump it takes longer to draw up and start, but once started can be left, or alternatively can be drawn up in 2 lots so treatment can be started quicker, but needs someone there for the 2nd lot to be administered? Please could you clarify/give your views".
Any thoughts on this matter???
