Most of this information is not new as it was first published in May this year and aired on this Forum. What is new is contained in the first paragraph which states:
"... In addition, it is important that employers continue to encourage staff delivering services in these areas to apply to and remain on the appropriate voluntary registers in the interests of public protection."
A clear indication from the Department of Health that NHS employers should now be insisting that appropriately qualified staff are registered.
