Is there a foot-switch delay control on the back of these units? I remember dealing with a similar issue, and the delay on the valleylab unit had been set to high (about 5 seconds delay) so it appeared to the surgeon that the unit wasn't working when the foot switch was operated. Set the delay to zero and the surgeon was happy.
