I haven't decided or booked yet. I was hoping to go somewhere that i could meet a few beer drinking ebme bods. The NEC Holiday Inn is fully booked (Just checked). I will do a search, provisionally book my Hotel, and post the details. John.

Hello John,
I am afraid that I can't recommend any hotels, but I can recommend a couple of restaurants for you.
From the NEC etc follow the A45 into Birmingham.
(be very careful of the speed cameras as they are immediately after the signs showing the speed limit and they take no prisioners.)
The first area of civilisation, that you come across is Sheldon, here you will find some very good curry houses that I have personally visited, as I live near there. They are all on the A45(Coventry Road). Too far to walk too I'm afraid, but there is not much to recommend near the NEC etc. Sheldon is no-where near any dodgy areas and the restuarants often cater for conference delegates. All are licensed and a warm brummmy welcome awaits in all. 3 course should cost less than £12, I'm sure your expense account can afford it!!
Shabar -traditional style, not to spicy B26 - very contempary Jalabi - stylish
No I'm not on any commission, it just seems a shame to travel to brum and only see the airport, theres a lot more going on than that. See the "birmingham its not ****e" website and "visit birmingham".
If your getting very desperate for accommodation there are some travel logdes etc on the A45 and are in easy reach of the NEC. Or is it only this hospital that book the cheapest accommodation?!
Enjoy your stay

Hi John When we were exhibiting at the NEC in May this year, we stayed at: Innkeeper's Lodge Birmingham South, 2225 Coventry Road, Sheldon, Birmingham, B26 3EH 0121 742 6201 www.innkeeperslodge.com As Tracy says, there's a good choice of restaurants in Sheldon, although their own restaurant was very good both times we ate there. OK for beer too. Car park has good overnight security - Locked gate and security patrol too. Rooms clean and comfortable. Prices £45 to £60 per room per night from what their website says. Certainly worth taking a look. Robert
