Anybody had anything to do with these guys?

I got in touch with them a while ago to volunteer my services to this excellent charity. My Employer agreed for me to take the time off (good PR etc etc), I had funding and sponsorship, the full shebang.

Never heard a thing back from them.

This is indeed a very worthwhile site. The Cleft Palate/Lip affliction is an awful one for a small Child to suffer. The remedy is available as the website says for 240$ and this disfiguration can be permanently rectified. So come on you Lads in the " Band of Brothers " the Christmas season will soon be upon us please support, and of your charity give what you can for this really good cause. smile Tony.

Yeah well like I said I tried to support them by volunteeting to support one of their missions but the three (yes three) occasions that I contacted them onbody bothered to get in touch. I spend (like a lot of the "band of brothers") large amounts of time outside of the UK and away from my family so volunteering to spend another three weeks or so away from home and family in no mean commitment.

But it would appear this worthwhile site considered my potential input worth-less on the grounds they couldn't be bothered to even reply. In my opinion a very dangerous precedent for a charity to set.

The aim of my posting this thread was for anyone to let me know if they had had any similar (positive or negative) interaction with them.

Not sure what the lecture was about.

Hey Tony,

No problem dude. If you know anyone in their organisation, tell them I'm trying to help!

We’re with you on this one, Tony. As we both know, most of those active on this site are compassionate types, any decent biomed is bound to be, surely?

But, Snowler, speaking as someone who also has been given the bum’s rush from many of these charity organisations, I must conclude that they seem to prefer their biomeds to be from the USA. I’ve never got anything positive from any of them. My response is to set up our own Band of Brothers, but I’m still waiting for John Sandham to sort out the funding, ha, ha! Anybody up for the biomed buddies? There's a whole world full of need, after all. frown
