Looks like the MHRA's Committee for the Safety of Devices is looking closely at how the sale of medical devices are being made on eBay.

I wonder who actually buys medical devices from eBay?

Bioman,
Unfortunately the link doesn't work and I can't find the article on MHRA site.
Could you repost the link if you've still got it.
Thanks,
Chris

I think you need access to the NHS Net for that link. Try substituting nww.medical-devices.nhs.uk with www.medical-devices.gov.uk

If it is not on their www website then it looks like it is only accessible to the NHS

Think I've found it.
It's becoming an issue with us as some companies are dumping stock by selling them as private individuals and trying to hide around disclaimers.

Would that not still make them the supplier and as such be liable for the support of the item?

Its not just ebay where you can pick this stuff up,
www.hilditchauctions.co.uk have a whole section of medical stuff (cheap spares anyone?)

But this stuff has come out of hospitals, would that not make the hospital the supplier?

Big can-o-worms for you all to debate....

Regards
Scott.

There was a story in this mornings Metro about the NHS Counter Fraud depatment is closely monitoring eBay. Around 15 ambulancemen are being investigated following the theft of medical equipment, uniforms etc which have later made its way onto eBay. eBay has confirmed that it is cooperating fully with the NHS fraud investigators.
