Think out of the box. smilewink Develop an infusion device that measures the actual infusion flow, pressure and presence of air at the infusion site. laugh

“McKinley Medical are rumoured to be bringing out a small syringe pump in the new year. Like the Graseby MS series but with more safety features built in.
Anyone have more details?”

There is truth in the rumour, were assisting. Will keep you informed. wink

Anyone know what ever happened to the Danby pumps of ten or twelve years ago? They were great little pumps with advanced features for the time (and British too!). Perhaps they were swallowed up by one of “big boys”? smile

Ah yes, the Danby DCR (see “Evaluation” 163). Amazing, the power of the internet! I seem to recall that you could adjust occlusion pressure at the front panel. Danby Medical was based in Earl’s Colne, but was acquired by Baxter in May 1993. But where can I get hold of a good one for my collection? Anybody still got them in service? Anyone out there got a complete set of the old HEI’s and “Evaluations” that are surplus to requirements? (or have you already bunged them all on eBay?). smile

Geoff,
I have a Handley clockwork pump in the museum if you want to bring back memories....and nightmares!

My spelling is not bad. I am typing this on a Medigenic keyboard and I blame that for all my typos.

Yes, I remember those too! Sounds like I need to visit your museum, then, Rojo. But I don’t think we can put the Danby in that category, can we? smile

As we are down memory lane, can anyone remember the Critikon SM90.
If my memory serves me right this was also a Danby design, by sold under the Critikon brand.

Chilly

PS Geoff where are you “Stirring the pot” from these days?

Ah yes, the “Syringe Minder”. I believe you can still find these around. Didn’t realize they were a Danby design, though. Of course, quite a few “big names” marketed pumps built by others (no need to name them here).

What about the Vickers Treonic IP4’s then? Surely these must be all gone now? (…there’s one on eBay.co.uk today, offered at £ 55).

There’s a nice old Ivac 530 going on eBay.com today too. Currently at US $ 5.00. Now, where’s my plastic?

Good Stirring (er, Hunting), from out in the cold off the beaten path. smile

Now the IP4 is a blast from the past, but £55 is pushing it a little I think.
The same seller also has an Imed 960a for sales, but judging by the questions asked by prospective buyers, they have no idea what they are purchasing.
