As I am employed by a Trust which is applying for Foundation Trust and work in a seperate Trust which is also applying for Foundation status, could we start a new forum on this topic.

I have read some comments about foundation Trusts under the AfC results forum, and as we are hearing about all sorts of changes, especially with regard to working terms and conditions, could those who are affected contribute actual happenings.
We at the moment are only getting the gloss and none of the disadvantages.

Hello thomo,

I would really be interested in joining in this topic, as I have just found out that I have been elected non-clinical staff rep on the members council for my Trust, which is embarking on becoming a foundation Trust.

I would be really interested in any one else has done this and how they are getting on.

Apparently we have been “told” to go for Foundation Status at Hereford (best of a bad bunch?) if I hear anything of interest I’ll pass it on.

Thomo,
There is an article from the Guardian Unlimited online newspaper dating from the start of Foundation Trusts that has a Q&A section that might answer some of your questions.
http://society.guardian.co.uk/nhsplan/story/0,,946032,00.html
On pay it says FTs "will have the ability to pay staff over and above nationally agreed terms and conditions."
Does this imply that they can also pay under if they do not need to attract staff? eek
Robert

My spelling is not bad. I am typing this on a Medigenic keyboard and I blame that for all my typos.

It has been announced today that we have passed Phase 2 and are looking to become a Foundation Trust by October.
