What are you doing these days then, Mike?

Must admit I was only interested in doing this in my own time, as something to keep the brain cells going, rather than looking at this sort of subject as a means to try stepping into a design job.

I'm working as an EBME technician for the NHS in sunny Dorset, Geoff. Keeps the wolf from the door.

Nice work, then, Mike. And there are worse places in the world. Not many wolves about down there these days, though, I would have thought. You might spot the odd dinosaur, though!

Chesil is my favourite beach. And as for fossils, I suppose I've exchanged one type of lithography for another...

I was down at Charmouth myself this time last year. Lyme Regis is a nice little sea-side town. It was once a major port, as you probably know. Yeah, great. "The French Lieutenant's Woman", the ill-fated 1685 rebellion, and all that! I expect that the Duke of Monmouth lingered too long. Typical Grockle! I didn't have too much time to linger myself, and therefore didn't make it to Weymouth, unfortunately. It's Chesil Beach next year, perhaps. It's only a 36-mile jog up and down, after all!

Try Scotland for the wolves Geoff.I believe some Laird is re-introducing them up there.
Age and treachery will always overcome youth and skill. Bullsh*t and brilliance only come with age and experience.

Hey all, it seemed the replies were a bit out from what madhavi was asking about... beware of going too far out... Thanks Mike for your support!!! Yeah, I was really bored when I was working as a physical design engineer; pay was good (inclusive of plenty of overtime) but basically there was no work-life balance... Gross... And I had to drag myself to work due to my own sense of responsibility of the job but no job satifaction at all... I hope I'll be recruited before I turn 30 so that I have a chance to learn while work in a hospital and also feel more like an engineer/technician rather than a 'graphic illustrator'... Just hope soon...

But we usually end up back where we started, eventually. madhavi asked:- i am thinking of doing masters in VLSI design, can anyone suggest me about the course and opertunities in job market for VLSI design engineers. And Richard provided a useful answer. Apart from yourself and Mike (see above), I doubt that many of the rest of us know much about VLSI design! Believe it or not, this forum is supposed to be about the tech support of medical equipment.

Hey all, it seemed the replies were a bit out from what madhavi was asking about... beware of going too far out... Interesting that you should mention that Lay Lay. For the most part, the feedback we get is that people enjoy the banter here. (That's why it's been allowed.) However, after todays Biomed conference, (for the first time ever!) we've had feedback indicating otherwise. So that this topic strays no further, I'll stop now. But please look out for a thread that expands on this topic in more depth - very soon.
