Hiya,

I thought ebme.co.uk was a commercial site and that Johns the director. Sites like this cant run of fresh air and its not a charity is it? Is the ebme admin NHS or what?

Anything thats posted of any value is just gonna bring more business in.

Cheers.

Hiya,

Ive always thought that the EBME name of this site was a bit misleading with people thinking it was NHS related. EBME is an NHS term thats been around since before this website existed.

That's because when this site was first registered, it was meant as a means to promote the company of the same name.

Then we decided that as people were using the site for 'non' company reasons, we would split the two entities.

This has been mentioned several times in this forum - it's no secret.

As for misleading, I first came across the term ebme whilst working in the Middle East - not NHS for sure.

Hiya,

Not a problem for me - just one of the reasons why Id be less interested in just giving away stuff Ive worked at.

Still wouldnt mind seeing this academic stuff from John though - sounds interesting and I guess its intended for free circulation if its academic research and its been published.

Anyone got any references to anything from John?

Cheers.

Sorry to have to disagree there, Mate. EBME (as in Electronic Bio-Medical Equipment [Engineering]) did originate in the UK NHS. You'll only find it used elsewhere (if at all) in parts of the world under "British influence". As I've said many times before, the generic misnomer biomed (as in Biomedical Equipment [Engineering]) is more universal. smile

My fault for a hurried post...

(I should have typed...)

I first came across the term ebme whilst working in the Middle East - I did not come across the term whilst working for the NHS for sure.

I'm not saying the term didn't originate in the UK at all.

Hiya,

I'd still be interested if anyones got any references to academic research that Johns carried out. Perhaps he could post it on the ebme.co.uk site. It wouldnt bore the pants off me honest.

Cheers.
