Any help for my problem with Dinamap Plus 8720.
After initial booting, a "System Failure: S-01" appears on screen and gives a low tone. This problem appeared after changing internal battery.
Any help will be much appreciated!

Welcome to the forum, musko. Battery reversed? Wrong battery? Faulty battery? Wrong voltage? I don't have the manual to hand, but it must be one of those, surely! Unless some sort of system reset is needed.
If you don't inspect ... don't expect.

(PS seem to remember holding down a key when powering up but as I said its been a long while, oh then it needed a cal)

To Geoff Hannis: Thanks Geoff! I changed it with a new one, it is actually 1/2AA Size, 3.6V Tadiran battery as far as I remember it is in the correct polarity. I agree with system resetting is the next thing to do but I don't how though.
To Eddie: Thanks for the info. I will wait for it.
To Neoteny: Thanks also for the input.

From the manual: S-01 = System timebase - Internal clock comparison failure.
No troubleshooting tips given but I'd try setting the date and time for a start.
I laugh in the face of danger. Then I hide 'til it goes away.

Yeah, the time and date addresses must be full of garbage values, I expect. That'll be it! Any idea about how to re-set the unit (which buttons to hold down whilst powering up)? Could it be the Set key (or maybe that's a different bit of kit)?

Rob1234>> <System Timebase>That is the most logical.
<Geoff> I think you're correct.
Actually, the date is reset to 26 Jun, 2066 (26:66). Information of date and time on internal clock is garbled. The problem is that before I can get to the menu to set the date and time the error goes right away. Imagine this, after turning it on, you'll see the initial boot up(which name, model serial # and date appear) and after 2 seconds, the error message(on top of screen) and a circle(about 2in diameter) appears almost on the center of the screen, together with them is a low tone. From there you can't control it unless turning it off again. Is there another way to resolve this?

You've got to find which key(s) to hold down whilst powering up, I reckon. Could be a case of trial and error! What have you got to loose, musko?

Unfortunately we don't seem to have any around anymore (thought there was one in storage?) Some of our staff recall holding down a key when powering up but no one can remember which bloody key! So I personally would follow Geoff's advice and systematically try each one! Good luck mate!
